Peer University - an Innovative Program in Elder Living

Aging Matters' “Peer University”™ is an innovative program that can deeply enhance the quality of life of older adults.  It is also a program that can greatly enhance the marketing appeal of senior living residences, especially with regard to the upcoming generation of Baby Boomers.  It is a service that is especially well-suited to independent living residences and communities, although it can be adapted and applied in modified form for assisted living, and even skilled nursing facilities.

Payment for Services

Our clinical services are mostly reimbursed by health insurance, including Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurers.  There is no cost to the facilities we work with to provide these services.  Depending on the patient's insurance, there may (or may not) be a per session co-pay and/or yearly deductible, which is billed to the patient or family.

Services other than clinical care that we provide at facilities are of two types:

Clinical Support Services:  there is no charge to facilities for the work we do to ensure quality of care and to coordinate care with other clinicians and facility staff, nor do we charge for occasional in-service training focused on improving quality of care.

Facility Consulting Services:  we do charge facilities for other sorts of optional services, such as more extensive training and development initiatives, and for management or organization consulting.

In everything we do for our clients – whether individuals or facilities – we bring our person-centered approach, and we walk our talk:  that aging truly matters.
